This is NOT ice-cream making time!

It is common for a research group to keep cells frozen in the tank! Recently, Jin decided to unfreeze his cells so he can subculture it. I decided to take videos and pictures of the cells coming out of the liquid nitrogen tank. 
After listening to the Science Vs podcast, they did many commercials on Nitro Cold Brew by Starbucks,  I just wanted to show you just HOW COOL liquid nitrogen is (pun intended!) 



This is a short 3-second video to show how cold it is. Remember, cold air submerge while hot air rises. It is -320 F, very cold and you need to have a pair of hugeeeee gloves to handle the cold! NEVER handle it with your bare hand!

BMES 2021 Aftermath!

BMES 2021 has come and gone! It is over before we know it! It was fun!  Four graduate students (Ian, Anne, Jin, and Allison) with an undergraduate (Aaron) went to BMES 2021 this year, held in Orlando, Florida The weather was HOT! But it was worth it! Did you see the conference venue they held it at? Amazing!  Well, of course, other than that, we did our presentations too!!! Everyone except for Allison did Poster presentation on their respective topics! Allison, our hardworking amazing graduate student (who will graduate soon!! :() was presenting orally at 8AM in the morning, ON A SATURDAY!!!  Of course we all went to her presentation to show our support!! Below was our schedule for the conference and further down, our adventuresssssss in Orlando Florida. Mind you, we were definitely immersed in the conference! Video Shoot for the Journal of Visual Experiment (JOVE)

 Recently we had a video shoot with Adam Peri from the Journal of Visual Experiment (JoVE)! We started writing our methods paper since Feb 2022, and it was recently published!! You can find out more about our published paper below!  Fabrication and Characterization of Layer-by-Layer Janus Base Nano-Matrix to Promote Cartilage Regeneration It was written by Maxwell Landolina*, Anne Yau*, Yupeng Chen based on the paper from Libo et al.  Controlled Self-Assembly of DNA-Mimicking Nanotubes to Form a Layer-by-Layer Scaffold for Homeostatic Tissue Constructs We then had a video shoot (and head shots - but not professional headshots lol) to show how we fabricate our LBL JBNm! Videos coming soon, but keep a look out!  I had to take picture of that "ACTION" plaque (I am sorry I don't know what it is really called, but correct me and I can change it up!)  Below is a picture of Max and I!
